Department of Education

The Department was created under the National Institute of Environmental Health in 2023 by Environmental Health Council of Nigeria (EHCON) in line with the Global best practices in Professional Development of Environmental Health Practitioners in Nigeria.

Description and function of the department

In order to achieve its missions and actualize its vision the following are the objectives of the Department;

  1. Identifying possible areas for partnerships, linkages and collaboration with both private and public institutions within and outside the country for the upliftment of Environmental Health Profession in Nigeria.
  2. Organizing Educational programmes and hosting of conferences, and general educational training for Environmental Health Practitioners.
  3. Propagation of Public Information, brochure guidelines, fact Sheets and booklets in Environmental Health practices.
  4. Carrier Enhancement Programme in Environmental health development.
  5. Projecting a positive image of NIEH in particular to the public in order to attract the desired patronage and recognition.
  6. Coordination of monthly activities and reporting to the appropriate quarters.

The department oversees all matters relating to the education activities of the Institute, Admission, Screening, Lecturing, Examinations & Result at National Diploma, Higher National Diploma, Post Graduate Diploma, 1st Degree and Second-Degree Levels
